Do ships and airplanes still travel into the Bermuda Triangle?

I just wanted to know from those pilots/seamen/travelers out there…is Bermuda triangle still used as an air/ship route or is it avoided? Although I am aware of the multiple ship/airplane disappearances in the Bermuda triangle, I am not sure whether it is still being used as a route. Are those disappearances just plain accidents like what happen in any other part of the world?

yes, it is still used for travel. its just a myth that bad things happened there but its really not true. my cruise ship traveled through it last year and im still alive!!

Air Travel Consolidators

Air Travel Consolidators

Consolidators or wholesalers are companies that buy airline tickets at very low prices in bulk and then sell them off to public at a discount rate than the original price set by the airline. They are the cheaper means to buy airline tickets from, because even after they have deducted their profit on the tickets, they are still cheaper for normal people like us. You must be wondering why airlines sell tickets at low prices. Actually, not all flights are booked seat-to-seat by the passengers. Because of this reason the airlines or air travel agencies have to sell tickets in order to make a full flight. And of course everyone involved in this game makes a profit this way.

You might have heard of brick & mortar travels or B&M Travels as they are commonly called. They are the offline consolidators specializing in providing cheap airfare to their customers whenever the demand for a certain flight grows. Online consolidators are also available and they are becoming increasingly popular these days. They are called online travel consolidators. Many websites that you will encounter while searching for cheap airfare are of these consolidators or air travel agencies. They are there to help you out in finding the cheapest flight, whether it is national or international, and they also advise you on choosing the right time for booking these flights.

Consolidators in the field of international air travel are the most helpful and useful source of saving a lot of money on airfare. Of course people are always looking for these consolidators or online cheap travel agencies to benefit from the services they have to offer. However, there are some points you should keep in mind before booking with one of these agencies. First of all, keep your options open. Consolidators all around the world offer different discount rates. Sometimes, you save only 10% and at other times, if you are lucky, you can even save up to 70% on your airfare! But it needs a little research and careful investigation before you can find such a consolidator. Furthermore, it also depends on the time of your flight and some other considerations including the destination location and the popularity of an airline.

Secondly, check the price of the airline ticket offered by your consolidator and see if it is inclusive of tax and other fees. Sometimes these companies list only the ticket cost and exclude taxes until the time of payment. This way they can advertise themselves quite cleverly, but do not fall in their trap. Check with other companies and compare their prices. Some websites let you compare prices only through a few clicks and a little information you provide. If possible, wait for a whole season and then see if the ticket rates have reduced. Then book yourself in advance to enjoy affordable and cheap airfare when the time is ripe.

You can tell the agent about the frequent flier program if you are enrolled into one. The consolidator will see if they find a matched price on one of the flights and will book you on it. If time is not of importance then tell your consolidator how flexible your dates are. They can find a good flight for you at the lowest possible price on a weekday or when there is little rush. This way you can travel safer and cheaper. Last but not the least, always check and double check you name and date of the flight and reservation after you have been handed over the ticket by your consolidator. Like every other business, there are traitors and dishonest persons out there so you need to keep an eye open.

Follow these steps and you will find a good consolidator very soon whether you are planning to fly national or international. Here are some consolidator websites to help you start your search from: Travelocity (travelocity.com), Hotwire (hotwire.com), Expedia (expedia.com), Cheap Travel (cheaptravel.com), and Airfare Choice (airfarechoice.com). However, do not rely on just these sites, as already said, keep your options open and keep looking for better and more reliable websites and consolidators to fly cheaper on your next trip.

Air Travel Liquids Rules

Air Travel Liquids Rules

When it comes to air travel and clothing, we are all different. There are some travelers who are dressed in business suits, others in traditional jeans, and others who wear something as comfortable as possible, such as their pajamas or sweat pants. With the recent increase in airport security and the recent change in air travel rules, there are many individuals who wonder if the clothing they wear to the airport is important. If you are one of those individuals, you can rest assure because, in most cases, it is not.

It seems as if ever since airplanes became the popular way to travel, a focus has been placed on comfort. Regardless of whether or not you will be taking a long flight, you will want to be comfortable. There is nothing worse than wearing an itchy sweater or tight pair of pants up in the air. Unless you bring a chance of clothes with you and place them in your carryon bag, you are out of luck. That is why it is important that you think of what you will be wearing before you leave for the airport. Even if you are traveling for business, you should be able to change in to your business clothes as soon as you arrive at your destination, even in the airport bathrooms.

When it comes to comfort, as previously mentioned, many air travelers make the decision to wear sweat pants and a comfortable top. In addition to being comfortable, you will find, in most cases, that these types of clothes are the best for airport security, especially when entering airport screening checkpoints. This is because most sweat pants are not made with any metal items. Essentially, this means that you should be able to enter the security checkpoint and leave it quicker than most other travelers, such as the travelers who are decked out in accessories.

When it comes to clothing accessories, you will find that a number of different items set off airport metal detectors. That is why most airport security officers request that you remove all of your jewelry. Once your jewelry is removed, you will need to place it in a small bin, which will be scanned right along with your carryon luggage. Whether you have rings or a necklace, you are advised to remove them, if you can. For your convenience, you can leave your earrings on. If by chance, you earrings set the metal detectors off, you will likely be pulled a side and airport security should easily be able to tell whether or not your earring were what set off the alarms.

In addition to jewelry, you will find that your belt may even set off an airport metal detector. For that reason, a large number of airports have requested that you remove your belts before entering the metal detectors. Since a large number of travelers wear belts, this is done to help speed up the process of checking each and every passenger. If you do not enjoy removing some of your jewelry or removing your belt, it is advised that you leave those items at home.

Recently, a number of new air travel rules have been implemented. One of those rules requires that all passengers remove their shoes. Your shoes, once removed, will be scanned by an x-ray machine, right along with the rest of your carryon luggage. In recent years, only random passengers were asked to remove their shoes, but now everyone is. For that reason, you will to wear simple shoes that you can easily remove and put back on.

Another air travel rule, recently implemented, is the ban of liquids. This means that adults are no longer allowed to bring a drink onboard, even bottle water. It also means that you are prohibited from placing liquid beauty supplies in your carryon luggage. One concern, made by many women is the allowance of gel or water filled bras. Currently, you are allowed to wear these types of bras onboard an airplane. Honestly, unless you mention it to airport security, there is a good chance that they would never even know.

Since there are really no rules or restrictions on the clothing that you can wear while flying the great skies, you need to choose for yourself. Whether you want to be fashionable or comfortable, it is all up to you.

do you think all people should have there lap tops or even shampoo confiscated when your going to travel byair

Knowing the facts about the new banning of liquid products on air ports because of recent fail terror plan of liquid explosives, what do you think is the biggest flaw about this new rule?
You know kentonmankle

for a leberal you sure have republican views, but then again im republican.

A lap top should not be confiscated when properly inspected and tested before the flight but liquid products like shampoo and perfumes must be confiscted because these can be used as explosives and can even self-explode while in flight if reacting with other materials even without detonators.

Air Travel During Pregnancy

Air Travel During Pregnancy

What are you expecting from a pregnancy announcement postcard? Joy? Excitement? How about a life lasting moment that the recipient will never forget? Pregnancy is an exciting and joyful time. There is suddenly so much new on the roadmap that needs to be tackled before the little bundle of joy arrives. Especially first time parents to be are seeing the world with different eyes and are tempted to even tell strangers that they are expecting a baby. It’s a very special time for sure. One problem with being pregnant is the lack of time and certain restrictions (especially later on during pregnancy) that make life a little more difficult. Long air travel is less desirable as an example as it can affect the baby. Friends you used to see every day/week/month have to stand back because you are concentrating on other things that (naturally) seem more important now. Then you think about all your friends back from high school and college + your extended family down in the Boonies. It is literally impossible to tell everyone in person about the great and exciting news.

This is where pregnancy announcements are a present send from heaven. Just plain email is boring and not always the polite way to tell someone you care about that you are expecting a baby. Pregnancy Announcement Postcards are different. It’s a very personal and emotional way to let friends and family know that you are expecting and that the world as you know it will change in much less than 9 months. Pregnancy Announcements come in many different flavors and many options exist. It really just depends on your ability and willingness on how much money you want to spend. Some vendors charge you an arm and a leg per postcard and the designs are actually horrible + they make/sell them in a way that you even have to spend expensive postage per card instead of providing options that look great and can be mailed with the lowest priced stamps available from the United States Postal Office. Other vendors have realized that you want to spend your money on things for the little one and offer affordable pregnancy announcements without letting the design be the cheapest part of the deal. We have seen vendors offering 20 to 25 cards for $10 to $15 total, while old time dinosaurs like Hallmark want more than $1.50 per one card.

What do you need to look for when buying pregnancy postcards? What postcards get the best results as a surprise for the recipient? Look for a design that is not tied to a specific gender since you probably don’t even know yet if you are going to have a baby girl or boy. Look for a design that expresses warm emotions and tender feelings. Look for cards that you would consider great for making a lasting impression and that would motivate the recipient to pick up the phone and to call right that moment. Recipients usually look at the front of a postcard first before checking who the actual sender is. The right pregnancy postcard design will make moment last a life long and you have accomplished of what you wanted to get out of sending a pregnancy announcement postcard.

Road trips promise a flourishing expanse of land, fresh non-polluted air, and the thrill of freedom to unwind from the fast paced lifestyle most of us lead. Planning for such adventures involves paying attention to the minute details while embracing the sheer pleasure of the inviting open road. Health and maintenance of the driver and the vehicle are crucial for a smooth journey. The person driving the car cannot afford to be ill or impaired in any way that would jeopardize the members of the family while driving. At the same time, the car has to be in top- condition and in good mechanical shape.

Ensure that regular maintenance of the car is up to date. This should include a safe-air or pollution check as a first priority. Tread depth, air pressure, and properly inflated tires (to avoid blow-outs), a spare tire, and a fully charged car battery are essential.

The oil level, a bottle of coolant and an anti freeze tester for extreme variations in temperature, depending on the location, are crucial. This especially relates to travel during the sizzling summer when it is hot enough to fry omelette with sunshine; or in winter months where a snowman could spring up every 100 yards. Accessories that should accompany a car at all times are a jack, basic tool kit, and a flashlight with spare batteries.

There are times when the physical conditions of the road might suddenly change, accidents might occur or weather variations such as sudden storms, tornadoes, earthquakes or other calamities might damage the car and its occupants. An emergency first aid box or medical kit is therefore a must for safety purposes. Along with the medical kit, extra tissue or toilet paper rolls, disposable plastic or paper bags, and medicines to combat allergy, motion sickness, diarrhoea, pain relievers and other symptom specific tablets, or ointments should be packed. Carefully label everything with instructions as an added precaution. An extra set of clothes, especially a warm wrap or blanket, is a must for any change in weather or the possibility of an accident.

Adequate bottles of water and non greasy basic snack food items such as sandwiches, cookies, Pretzels, Mars and other energy bars avoid messiness in the car, and also serve as contingency measures in the event that the car breaks down. Repairs might take more than a couple of hours. Bad weather or mistakenly taking a wrong route can also jeopardize the family getting stranded in isolated surroundings, especially during nightfall.

Wrong routes are a sign of bad planning or an inaccurate sense of direction. (Do not go by ‘Women can’t read maps and Men refuse to ask for directions.) Being lost is no body’s cup of Darjeeling tea! Detailed road maps with signs indicating gas stations and food and lodging are a must for road trips. The Internet has become the biggest source of information for the global trekker. A quick search on Google will yield current road conditions as well as provide alternatives for unexpected diversions or hazardous construction on the way. Hotel or motel bookings in advance avoid the potential harassing situation of arriving at night with no place to stay, especially in bad weather conditions and a wailing baby in the back seat.

Music, especially fast numbers keep the spirits elevated and break the monotony of driving long stretches with unvarying landscape. It also helps in combating drowsiness. Most road accidents peak between 12 pm and 6 am with the majority of the casualties being attributed to falling asleep at the wheel. Take turns driving the vehicle, if possible, to allow for breaks and reduce tiredness. As well, pulling off the road to take a rest or sleep for a couple of hours is a safer way to avoid mishaps. Precaution must be exercised if driving alone in the car not to stop and sleep on lonely stretches of the road at night, especially those which are off the highway. You do not want to become an unknowing victim to a robbery or some other crime.

Technology such as GPRS and GPS for the tech savvy has proved to be a boon, especially in cases where the roads might prove fortuitous and chances of getting lost are high. Google maps, GPS installed on the PDA, mobile phones have proven to be very handy. But the reliable road map with directions should always be provided for as an alternative as sometimes electronic navigation system fail.

An overnight bag packed with the bare essentials like night clothes and toiletries ensures that the main suitcases or bags remain untouched until the destination, or if emergency situations force the person and family to board at a rest house overnight, or in the car for that matter.

Road trips are not complete without the occasional hiccups, but never leave home without the car registration, insurance papers and the ubiquitous driver’s license (which should not be expired). Switch on the ignition, give a broad smile and give in to the song in your heart and the wanderlust in your soul. Fortissimo!
