Air Travel Vs Car Travel

Air Travel Vs Car Travel

The credit cards system is spread all over the world. This is now the most popular way to purchase goods and pay bills or taxes. Yet at the same time, this system is also very vulnerable. When a credit card is stolen or lost, unauthorized persons can use its number illegally, and a great amount of money will be lost. There are some precaution measures to be taken to make the transactions more secure, such as the one time single use numbers.

But the credit card’s advantages are so important that their use become almost universal. One of the major advantages is called a buy now, pay later. This opportunity is allowing people to use the grace period to purchase goods and pay much later. The incentives are another major advantage. Credit cards issuers are offering loyalty schemes, attractive point reward systems and air miles. The credit card owner can make excellent savings using its credit card often and always paying off the balance when he has a good reward scheme. Incentives are often changing, and the new reward systems are more and more attractive.

No cash needed is, maybe, the main credit card advantage. The cardholder is carrying only a small plastic card in his wallet. The cardholder will not make payments in cash; he will not worry about the robbers tempted by an attractive wallet… Many transactions are made everyday using credit cards. Cash not allowed is an important condition when someone wants to rent a car or check to the hotel. Often the credit card is used as a deposit.

Free insurance is provided when someone books a holiday or an airline ticket if the customer buys using a credit card. It is wise to check if it is on offer with the credit card. The purchase protection is another advantage, insuring the buyer when he is purchasing faulty goods. They are normally 100% insured for a few months. Some insurance covers the loss too. The loss protection is a useful feature. If a person needs to purchase a good and he loses the money, this is his bad luck. But if he has a credit card, the problem will not occur. A quick call to the credit card company to cancel the card will avoid any problem. A new credit card will be provided in a few days. Any issuer can have his own conditions, but if the credit card number is stolen and the actual credit card is in its owner possession, the issuer can state that the owner liability is null.

Credit cards are also presenting another kind of advantage: the travel advantages. If someone needs to travel and must change its money (from USD to Euros, for example) he can have he unexpected surprise to get a very poor exchange rate. He will also need to pay some commissions at the bank. The credit card is making these operations more cost-effective and much simpler. Most countries accept all major credit cards, especially hotels and tourist resorts.

TP Filter VS. Compressed Air Dryer?

I do normal body work out of my 2 car garage. I use tools such as a 6″ D/A Sander, Inline Board Sander, 1/2″ Drive Impact Wrench, Sand Blaster, DeVilbiss HVLP Spray Gun, and a Media Spot Blaster. I currently have a Campbell Hausfeild 60 Gallon Compressor, and have terrible problems with water in my lines. I have a water trap that does absolutely nothing. I am now getting a spare 10 gallon tank for the air/water to travel to first, then am going to get either one of those Toilet Paper water filters, or am looking at a DeVilbiss Desiccant Filter/Compressed Air Dryer. Any opinions on which would work best? The TP Filter is about 80 bucks, and the air dryer will be about 250. Which is better or are there any first hand users?
I will be moving my 2nd tank away from the compressor/tank when I get one. Along with the filter or dryer. I just need to know which one to get.
And I currently drain the water from the main tank about every 30 minutes of use.

recently a friend of mine had the same problem, he tried the glass bead dryer first and that did not work so he went with the air dryer which proved to be alot better

Is air travel really the safest statistically.?

So people often say that air travel is statistically safer than travaling by car or by sea. ie a higher percentage of fatalities occur by road or sea.
BUT
does that take into account who you are or where you live.

for example if im travelling with an 80 year old man
if a ship sinks im a fair swimmer and young enough to stay alive longer than an 80 year old so the statistics on survival change

but if a plane goes down me and the 80 year old passenger have about the same chance.

So thats my point that there may be more fatalities on a ship but perhaps fatalities were all older so that doesnt ever factor into ststistics.
right?

If you wanted to talk about how many 80 year olds survive car or plane or train crashes, then you’d need to focus on that sub-group. That’s how it works.

If you wanted to talk about the likelihood of survival amongst age groups in specific types of accident, you’d need to analyse further specific statistics, that’s how that would work.

The safety statistics don’t take into account specifically who you are and where you live, whether you are 80 or 20 and whether you can swim. They take into account whether you survive or not. That’s it, that’s all they need to do and air travel is statistically the safest.

It doesn’t mean I trust air travel though, oh no.

Swine Flu Air Travel Baby

Would you travel an 11 hour flight with a 16 month old baby in this swine flu pandemic?

Concerns: Confined air circulation of the plane, crowded airports, would the baby recover in case he contracts it?
Thanks…

I agree with Como…people are making it out to be so horrific. There are plenty of other things that kill people everyday…the swine flu is just whats in the media right now…just how the west nile virus was a few years ago…pretty soon it will be some other thing catching the media buzz. If your trip is a must, then take it and just make sure you wash or sanatize your hands frequently and if your super afraid, then you could always wear a mask…you may look a little silly, but when it comes to your children you gotta do what you gotta do.

Air Travel Tips With Baby

Air Travel Tips With Baby

Women today travel constantly and that too all over the world. Most manage to successfully juggle a professional life with a private one. Statistics reveal that almost 50% of business travelers are women and the number continues to grow each day. Travel at short notice means being organized and ready to go. Be smart and plan well ahead.

  1. Keep on tab a list of baby sitters who would be willing to pitch in, even overnight if required. Keep a small book handy in which you jot down things like what the kids eat, their schedules, important phone numbers, likes and dislikes, as well as numbers of the doctors and list of medications including known allergies.

  2. Keep a travel bag always packed and ready to go. Pack a combination of clothes so that they will tide you over irrespective of the weather in your destination. Wear easy to maintain and dark colors on trips. They don’t show stains, are wrinkle free and will drape well.

  3. Always eat lightly and foods that are cooked avoid raw salads and water as well as ice. It is wise to snack before a flight and also to try and sleep during flight. This way you will arrive at your destination refreshed. Be sure to drink plenty of bottled water during travel.

  4. Set up a schedule to call home at time zones that work for you and your loved ones. Make it a point to get mementoes for your family members as also the baby sitter and others who pick up the slack while you are away. It shows them that you care.

  5. Put safety first always place a “do not disturb sign on your hotel door and if nervous place a chair under the door knob like they do in movies. Keep your cell phone on and fully charged by you at all times and carry protection in the form of pepper spray, an alarm, or if you are trained and licensed a small weapon with its safety on. In most cities the police organize training classes for women to learn how to protect themselves and what one must do in an emergency. Try and make time to attend these.

  6. Avoid dark lanes and abandoned roads. Never talk to strangers or accept food or drink from someone you don’t know. While traveling never leave food or drink unattended. Be vigilant at all times.

  7. Choose a hotel with care. Choose to stay at well established hotels or small inns and B&B where the proprietors are generally family people. Always e-mail and fax details of your staying arrangements and travel plans to your home as well as office.

  8. Always carry important documents, money, traveler’s checks, and passport in a money belt worn around your waist.

  9. Always act confident and move around in groups there is always safety in numbers.

  10. If unwell go to a state run hospital. Never to a private clinic.

  11. Never travel with valuables like jewelry and always carry a small flashlight and medical kit with you.

  12. For safety reasons arrange with your family to take appropriate action if you do not get in touch with them as planned.

Avoid room service and eat in the hotel dinning room. Also never reveal details of where you come from or your travel plans to anyone.

Be vigilant and smart and you will be able to travel often and safely.

Travelling with a Toddler and baby tips?

My wife and I will be travelling by air with our 2 year old and 6 month old children in a few weeks. We are taking a red eye hoping that they will sleep thru most of the trip. Our biggest concern is getting from the shuttle to the gate with the kids, car seats (which we are using on plane), luggage, baby stroller. Any helpful hints?

You can bring your stroller right up to the gate and have it checked in there…..use a cart for the luggage and maybe if you can put the 6 month old in baby carrier that will help with one less thing to carry….good luck

Air Travel Deals To Hawaii

Air Travel Deals To Hawaii

You probably know people who have booked luxury vacations to places like Europe, Hawaii and the Caribbean at bargain prices. So how do they do it? They don’t travel during high season. You can save more than $1500 by not traveling during the summer, spring break season or Christmas. Unfortunately, there are a lot of travelers who are forced to travel in this season because it is the only time they can get off of work, school or other important commitments. Here are a few tips to keep you from losing your money…or your mind!

Avoid Traveling In June, July and August

Not surprisingly, these three months are the top travel months for luxury vacations. The kids are out of school, the weather is great and your work is giving you some needed R & R. But most countries in the world have vacation and school breaks during this time, so people all over the world want to get away. Airlines and hotels know this and charge outrageous prices for their seats and rooms. It is especially expensive in Europe, as Europeans have great weather and school breaks, and are willing to pay a premium to stay where they want. If there is any way for you to travel at a different time, do so. Putting your vacation off until September and October can easily save you thousands of dollars. Even May and April are cheaper than June and July.

Don’t Travel Internationally

If you can only take your luxury travel vacation during high season, stay closer to home. There are probably more luxury deals available to travelers who maybe choose Las Vegas instead of the Dominican Republic, and Miami instead of Mexico. Your domestic flights will be hundreds of dollars cheaper than if you were to fly to other countries. Plus, hotels, cruise lines and travel agents have a number of local deals available to people interested in traveling within the states. From Hawaii to Alaska, there are a lot of exotic and adventurous things to see and experience here in the good old USA.

Budget Accordingly

If you are traveling in high season, don’t expect to pay low season prices on luxury vacations. The prices you will find might be the highest you have ever seen because you had previously considered traveling during low season. Be ready to pay up to $1,500 per person for international air in coach class. Expect three star resorts and hotels in tourist areas to charge five star prices, and luxury hotels and resorts to go through the roof. One good suggestion is to book early to try to take advantage of early booking discounts.

Even luxury world cruises that begin in peak season are more expensive and more difficult to find availability. If you want to travel in high season, the key is to be flexible. Consider different dates, different destinations and different costs. Visit http://www.amtcruises.com for more luxury travel cruise informations. Book early and take advantage of early booking incentives. With these suggestions, you can get the best prices available for high season travel.
