There are however some things you may want to keep in mind. To even get consideration there are a number of factors that will qualify you. There are a few guidelines regarding this procedure that the National INstitute of Health NIH has established. You must be older than 18, you must have a Body Mass Index or BMI of 40-80 to start with. It’s also worth noting that certain pre-existing medical conditions may exempt you from certain exceptions. One of the other requirements is that your doctor has already worked with you directly on a diet and exercise program without any success. These guidelines are US only though. Because of this, you may be tempted to look elsewhere for treatment. Other countries my have lower up-front costs associated with this procedure, but there may be other costs that you might not initially consider. The cost for this procedure will come directly out of your pocket, and it can cost around $8500. Something else to keep in mind is the cost of air travel, as well as hotel stay, and any dietary restrictions you have while on your trip. Another consideration has to do with your checkups. You many need to make arrangements to return to the place of surgery, or else work with a doctor close to home that is willing to help out. Regardless of how you handle it, you’ll need to be sure that it’s all set up ahead of time. You can also have the surgery in the United States, but it’ll cost you. Most procedures are $14,000. This is just to start though. Consider the cost of other services like hospital stay, lab work, follow-ups, O.R. Costs, surgery costs and it can add up pretty quickly. You might find that your insurance company will cover the procedure though. It really just depends on who your insurer is, and how your plan is set up. The best thing is to contact your insurer to be sure. Insurance companies may be more likely to cover costs if you can show that you have a pre-existing medical condition related to your weight gain. There’s a lot to look into, but a good place to start is to find out if you are covered under your health plan. Weight your options. You might be thinking that getting the surgery done in Mexico is the best, but just be sure to check everything out first.

Know What to Expect
Weather forecasts are never 100 percent, but it is always a good idea to start watching the weather for your home and your route a few days before your trip.

Consider your entire route, because you can have gorgeous weather in your start and end cities but have a storm in a mountain range between.

Be Prepared to Change Plans
If you see that bad weather is approaching, consider leaving a day early to miss it altogether if it is on your route and expected to pass before your return home. Also, see if there is another, safer route where bad weather is not expected.

You might also consider purchasing trip cancellation insurance for an expensive trip featuring reservations that cannot be canceled (or have high fees for doing so). Be sure to read the fine print, however, and ensure whether cancellation for bad weather is covered.

Also, be sure you know the cancellation policies for all your reservations. Have print-outs in the car during your travels that are kept in the glove box, allowing you to quickly call and cancel or change them.

Be Prepared for Winter Weather
Before you travel, you must have a winter weather kit for the car. It is best to assume you will be in your car, without heat, for a stretch of time. This is especially important with kids. You should bring:

•Blankets
•Water bottles
•Snacks
•Fully charged cell phone (even one with a closed account is better than none. You can still dial 911).
•Flares
•Jumper cables
•First aid kit
•Medications
Also be sure to travel with some sort of roadside protection. AAA is an option, but not the only choice. Your car warranty might automatically include it, and many auto insurance companies offer it for just a couple bucks a month extra. Be sure you not only have it, but have the information to reach someone in your glove box.

Also, don’t let location make you complacent. Freak storms can hit in the deep south, and it takes very little snow in mild climates to make roads treacherous.

Handle Winter Weather When it Happens
If you are caught in winter weather, don’t be afraid to pull over for a nasty condition to pass or to stop en route and stay an extra night. Safety should be the top concern.

It is also a good idea to travel with tire chains. Be sure you know how to properly use them. Also, realize that chains and four-wheel drive vehicles are not crash-free and precautions are still needed.

Also, be sure you know how to drive in the bad weather. Do not slam on the brakes if you start to slide, for example.

Is air travel really safe?

This summer, I’ve traveling to China. This will be the second time I’ve traveled out of the country, but the first time I’ve been in a plane for twenty hours…or more. I’ve been getting kind of paranoid as the trip comes closer and closer – mostly about the plane ride. Is there anybody out there who has traveled to China before and can give me some tips for the ride, and is there also anyone who can tell me the truth about air travel safety? Your help is much appreciated!

Ever since the September 11 attacks, airports have gotten very, very tight on security and plane safety. They won’t even let you eat with metal forks anymore!

A lot of things are a lot safer now than they used to be but I won’t lie to you. Nothing in this world is 100% safe and no matter what, we’re always risking our lives even by crossing the street. But honestly, I’m sure you’ll be fine.

Cheap Air Travel Deals

Cheap Air Travel Deals

Finding cheap air travel can mean the difference between spending too much on a trip, and going on a trip for much less than you ever imagined. It is important for you to be able to save as much money as you can when you travel. In today’s economy, it is vital for you to save money any way that you can. Many people might think that this means they need to stop traveling in order to save money. And, this is definitely something that will work. However, there are ways for you to still travel and spend less money than you are spending now – so it is important for you to focus on the ways that you can, indeed, save money.

The first thing to focus on when you are looking for cheap air travel is to know exactly what you are looking for. Many people go into finding tickets without really thinking about what they need or what they want, so when the time comes, they simply book the first flight that they find, and don’t stop to do any research. While this can mean that you have your flight booked faster, and your trip arranged sooner, it can also mean that you are dealing with a lot of hassle and needing to pay more than you ever thought that you would. If you truly want to be able to find affordable flights – or even cheaper flights, you need to take your time and do your research, and the first step is laying out exactly what you want.

Once you know what it is that you are going to be searching for, you can begin to do your research to find cheap air travel. Remember, this is what is going to take awhile, and it might be a good idea to start looking months before you have to travel. Take your time, and find as many different scenarios as you can. It might seem like too much work, but if you are able to do research, you can save up to 70% on the price of airline tickets. In fact, you can save that much on your whole trip, if you are able to do the research.

One of the keys things is to be flexible with your travel dates and your airline preference i.e. book Air India flight tickets if they are cheaper than Kingfisher flight tickets. Can you depart on a Tuesday instead of a Sunday? Can you return on a Thursday instead of a Friday? Check the surrounding dates because sometimes prices on “non preferred” days of the week can mean a savings of as much as 40% or even more for the same route.

In the end, finding cheap air travel is going to be worth it. With every penny that you save on travel, you can buy something else – or save that money for when you really need it. You shouldn’t let being short of cash prevent you from traveling.

Today’s economy is tough – so don’t make it any tougher on you than it has to be. Do your research, take your time, and find cheap air travel that makes traveling worth it for you!

Travelling While Pregnant - Air Travel While Pregnant

For women who are expecting a child then any arrangements where a flight is involved may need to be checked first. Of course it will be the doctor that actually says yes or no to air travel depending on your medical situation. Medical reasons which would prevent travelling while pregnant can include, blood loss, raised blood pressure or swelling.

==> **Get a FREE Year of Diapers**

Fortunately, unless a pregnant woman is expecting twins or more, in which case the airlines might not let her travel after 32 weeks then you are normally safe to travel up to 36 weeks. It is also advisable to carry a medical certificate issued by your doctor if you will be over twenty four weeks pregnant by the time you fly. It is also worthwhile checking in as early as possible as there is a greater chance of being issued a bulkhead seat for additional room or aisle seat where it will be easier for access.

==> **Receive a FREE Year of Diapers**

Normally, typhoid and hepatitis A and B vaccinations are recommended for Asia and Africa, however, typhoid vaccinations are not recommended for pregnant women although there is no evidence of fetal damage, there is only limited research on the fetal effects of these vaccinations. Malaria is another problem and travelling while pregnant is not advised to countries where contracting it is a possibility.

In Australia, typhoid and hepatitis A vaccinations aren’t advised for children under six but it is recommended that children are up-to-date with their other immunizations. Always check with a doctor as to which vaccinations are required as they will vary depending on an individual situation and itinerary.

A simple way to avoid getting hepatitis A and typhoid is to avoid drinking water that has not come from a sealed bottle and ice where tap water has been used. In some countries eating most fruit and any raw vegetables is also dangerous as is failing to sterilize hands before eating. A handy travel accessory is the small 60ml gel bottles of antibacterial hand wash that dries almost immediately on contact with the air but does mean that special washing facilities aren’t required before eating.

Unfortunately, there is an additional risk of blood clots when you are pregnant, one that increases with airline travel so to avoid deep vein thrombosis it is advisable to wear the special socks or stockings you can purchase from drugstores. Doctors also recommend taking some form of exercise when flying; ideas for which can usually be found in the flight magazine.

Fortunately travelling while pregnant within the first twenty six weeks of pregnancy  there shouldn’t be any problems with insurance but there may be exclusions in the policy after this time. There are a few insurance companies that will extend the policy throughout the pregnancy term but not any costs relating to the birth.
